Ram TPMS (tire pressure) change with OBDLink MX and AlfaOBD
Here share a guide of how to use OBDLink MX to change your own tire pressure threshold limit which is what caused your red light to come on on your dash for your tire pressure.
To change your tirm pressure, you need a program called alfa and then to make this work you will also need your four-digit vehicle pen. Let’s show you how to do it.
First you need to download AlfaOBD app on your phone, then Plug OBDLink LX into the OBD port in the car ( it’s one thing have to be sure that the car is off and the keys off out of the ignition)
Click on the bluetooth.
Click on “OBDLink MX”
Once connected, you’re going to pick your ram 2500
Under the next menu you’re go down to body computer
Then you pick which year your vehicle is and hit connect
Once it’s connected we’re go down to the bottom here, click on the car with the hood open
Start procedure we’re scroll down it’s all the way at the bottom. We’re going to update tire pressure threshold. (WARNING: For the active diagnostics turn the engine off, leaving key in MAR. For the models equipped with Stop&Start system the procedures must be run with the engine actually stopped (Stoop&Start function off). For certain procedures engine must be started, read on-screen instructions. Check for errors stored and fix them before running diagnostics otherwise it might be not reliable or not possible. The list of procedures is updated when connection to particular control unit is established, so the list might be incomplete in idle. Some active diagnostic procedures might not be supported depending on the vehicle version!)
Right now the OBD alfa have your rear and front tire current setting threshold. It will turn the red light on. You can pick whatever new threshold you want. For now let’s just say front tire 40 and rear tire will also say 40.
Then you would hit start.
It would go ahead and update that information. Once it’s done with that, the app will tell you when the procedure is complete. It usually takes a few seconds. Once that’s done you come back to the main menu here.
Tap “BODY COMPUTER”
Scroll down and tap “RADIO FREQUENCY HUB(RFH)”
Tab “SELECT CONTROL UNIT”
Click on “Radio frequency hub 2013 to 2017”, then connect.
Once you connected, you’re start procedure, scroll down and click on “ RF Hub reset replace
Enter your vehicle PIN in then hit start
It should take a few minutes.Once it done, go back to your main menu, tab “BODY COMPUTER”, select control unit
Then down here to check faults clear.
Once you’ve cleared the faults, you should be able to turn your vehicle off, let it sit for a minute and then once it’s sat you can turn it back on and you should have new threshold values.
